The Pad Hast Asana is one of the most common beginner's asanas in yoga. It is a simple head to knee posture with a backward bend that increases the blood flow to the brain thereby stimulating the spinal nerves.
This asana massages the nervous system and improves the pituitary and thyroid glands.
You should start by practicing to hold the stretch for a couple of minutes each day and gradually increase until you can do it for at least 10 minutes.
This asana should be done slowly as hasty movements could lead to pulling a muscle and back pain. |
